Princess Connect! Re:Dive 04
プリンセスコネクト！Re:Dive episode 04

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Karen takes Kokkoro, Yuuki, Pecorine, and Karyl to an abandoned house outside of the city. This is to be their new guild HQ. Karyl is not happy as the house is filled with bugs, snakes, and possibly worse. However, she takes charge of getting the place cleaned. Pecorine and Yuuki remove all of the furniture while Kokkoro starts washing linens and sheets. Karyl starts scrubbing the inside of the place.

Pecorine freaks out when she realizes they don’t have a table. As such, she fells a large tree on the property to make a table. Kokkoro heads back to the city to buy things they need. Yuuki joins Karyl in scrubbing the house clean. In the city, Kokkoro finds a bazaar, where the elf Saren, who runs the Sarendia Orphanage, is selling plates and such. Saren gives Kokkoro a deal on things. She then instructs her somewhat reckless maid Suzume to load up the cart with Kokkoro’s purchases to take it back to the guild.

Suzume leads the donkey that’s pulling the cart outside of the city. She and Kokkoro discuss Saren. Suddenly, the two find themselves lost in a wooded area. Suzume and the donkey get spooked and run off. Kokkoro finds Suzume. The pair attempt to find the donkey, only to find a talking, girl llama (Rima) that can walk upright. She works at a nearby farm called Elizabeth Park.

Back at the guild, Yuuki falls off a stool and winds up in Ameth’s realm again. She returns him to the world below with some advice and a warning. Meanwhile, Pecorine has finished her table. However, she has to narrow it to get it through the door. Back in the woods, Rima pulls the cart for them. They are beset upon by bandits. Rima is timid until they call her a donkey and sends them packing.

The fight causes Rima to have to eat a metamorapple, which turns her into a humanoid llama type. With that, the trio get Kokkoro to her destination just as the others finish their work. Kokkoro is very moved by the look of things. Pecorine makes a stew while Yuuki splits firewood. That night, they have their first meal together in their new guild home.

Thoughts/Review:

While Princess Connect! Re:Dive 04 wasn’t as funny as previous episodes, it still was fun for what it was.

A New Guild Home

I don’t mind saying that Karyl freaking out over bugs and such gave me a chuckle in Princess Connect! Re:Dive 04. It is the comedic overreactions she has that generates the humor.

I was disappointed that Pecorine seemed to have a bit of trouble felling a tree in the episode. Considering her great strength, I though we’d see her chop it down in short order, but alas, that was not to be. Still, there was some humor in her actually building the table and trying to get it in the front door.

It was touching seeing how moved Kokkoro was when she saw the restored home. She had such a simple dream and that has come true. So even though she’s a fictional person, I couldn’t help but feel happy for her.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

Sorry there’s not much here. I’m working all weekend and running on fumes. But here’s some final thoughts for Princess Connect! Re:Dive 04.

• Rima the llama girl was pretty funny. I almost feel bad for her since she clearly doesn’t want to be seen as a llama per se. On one hand, she’s very timid. On the other hand, she’s as powerful as Pecorine (or so it seems). And I guess she can enter a humanoid form for a brief time, thanks to those apples. So we’ll see where she goes from there.
• Yuuki getting knocked out and waking up in Ameth’s realm provided the only plot element. I wonder what this mystery that Ameth refereed to.
• I didn’t like the official subtitles changing Karyl’s nickname for Kokkoro from Korosuke to Koro-ster. That just seems stupid to me. 😑🙄

In the end, Princess Connect! Re:Dive 04 was a fun episode, but not as funny as prior episodes. And we got a bit of plot. On to the next episode.
